Remixing is the adoption, alteration, and recombination of per-existing things, to create something new. Now this is something common in music, open source development but not in the so-called “innovation industry”. Except that it is ridiculous to call something innovative and new it is hypocritical while everybody knows that nothing is original. As we saw in an earlier article even in one of the most competitive industries, the fashion industry, there is a culture of copying one another.
From Bob Dylan to Steve Jobs, our most celebrated creators both borrow, steal and transform.
